Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.176(b): Storage of material created a hazard. Material stored in tiers was not stacked, blocked, interlocked or limited in height so that it was stable and secure against sliding and collapse: On or about February 15, 2018, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when the pallets on back-to-back racks can be pushed/moved by pallets on the opposite rack because the pallets touch each other in the flue space between the racks. Product that is not fully banded and/or wrapped is subject to falling when jostled when a pallet on the opposite rack is being picked/stored. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
