29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(ii): Prior to permitting an employee to operate a powered industrial truck (except for training purposes), the employer shall ensure that each operator has successfully completed the training required by this paragraph (l), except as permitted by paragraph (l)(5). a. On or about October 3, 2017, an employee was operating a CAT, Model EP6000, Serial FN408254, forklift equipped with a JibRig boom lifting attachment and lifting clamp device to transport granite slabs. The employee had not completed the employers forklift training program and was not certified to operate the forklift.
