Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1026(e)(2): The employer did not ensure that a regulated area for chromium (VI) was demarcated from the rest of the workplace in a manner that adequately established and alerted employees of the boundaries of the regulated area: The employer is failing to prevent employee exposure to hexavalent chromium hazards. The condition was most recently observed on August 31, 2017, at 3801 S Oliver, Wichita, Kansas. Employees were exposed to hexavalent chromium hazards in that the seal bay area was not demarcated from the rest of the workplace during sanding and grinding activities where exposures were above the permissible exposure levels. There were no ropes, stanchions, chains or signage to notify employees of the boundaries.
