29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): The employer did not provide one or more methods of machine guarding to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from amputation hazards associated with operating inadequately guarded machines. The most recent occurrence of this was evident at the facility located at 555 S. Stuhr Road, Grand Island, NE, where the spinal cord auger system is inadequately guarded and the employer has employees exposed to amputation hazards when they have to reset the guards.
