29 CFR 1926.300(b)(1): Power operated tools that were designed to accommodate guards were not equipped with the guards when they were in use, to protect the operator and employees nearby from hazards such as ingoing nip point, rotating parts, flying chips, or sparks: a) Electric grinders did not have guards; 2 (red) Milwaukee grinders and one (blue) Bosch grinder. Employer was using grinders for electric welding operations when constructing a steel tank. Employees were exposed to laceration hazard. Location: 519 8th Ave, New York, N.Y. On or about 2/27/2017 NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASEFILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION NOR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
