Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: (a) Debone Area - On or about February 14, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that an eyewash was readily available for employees handling corrosive chemicals to include, but not limited to, Carb Off [SODIUM HYDROXIDE] and Dynachlor [Sodium Hypochlorite] during cleaning and sanitation of the poultry processing equipment, such as the Race Track Conveyor (Intralox). The closest eyewash station was behind a closed door approximately 100 feet from the conveyor system.
