29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Protection was not provided by placing and keeping excavated or other materials or equipment at least 2 feet (.61m) from the edge of excavations, or by the use of retaining devices that were sufficient to prevent materials or equipment from falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: (a) 1511 Washington Street East: On or about January 10, 2017 and times prior, a Komatsu PC 55 excavator, a Kohler motor, and other miscellaneous tools and equipment were located on the edge of the 3 foot 4 inch by 13 foot 9 inch and up to 5 foot 4 inch deep trench while the employee was working in the trench on his knees.
