29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. On or about November 29, 2016, at the plant, first floor in the center of the plant, the employer by-passed two safety disconnect switches and did not provide safety guards to prevent operators from coming into contact with the rotating bobbins of small cable as it binds into a larger cable when operating the screening machine line # 2, exposing employees to caught-in and crushing hazards.
