29 CFR 1910.30(a)(2): Portable dockboards are notsecured in position, either by being anchored or by being equipped with devices that would prevent their slipping. Location: Loading Dock Employees are exposed to falls and vehicle tip-over hazards due to defective dockboards that shift during use. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all defective dockboards are removed and replaced with dockboards that comply with 1910.30(a). Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how employer will maintain and inspect dockboards.
