29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when: a) 555 Jake Buncombe Road, Waco, GA, South trench: The employer exposed an employee to cave-in hazards while working inside an unprotected trench (350-feet long, 5-feet wide and 9-feet, 3-inches deep) to install 36 inch bell-type pipes as drainage for construction of four chicken houses.
