29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times. a) On or about 8/10/2016, and at times prior to, the U.S. Postal Service located at 835 South 7th Street in Louisville, KY did not ensure that the emergency egress lights (#7 and 8), in the area indicated as the Inspectors Gallery, were ready for emergency use as the lights were not working when tested. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1013531, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/27/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 100 Brookdale Ave, Springfield, MA 01151. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 999514, citation number 1, item number 2b and was affirmed as a final order on 3/19/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 64 San Patricio Street, Suite 1, Loiza, PR 00772. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
