29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Mill building trimming machines - On July 26, 2016, or at times prior, the non-point of operation portion of the blades on the trimming machines were not guarded. Employees are exposed to finger amputation while cutting slate. b) Mill building radial arm saws - On July 26, 2016, or at times prior, the non-point or operation portion of the blades on the radial arm saws were not guarded. Employees are exposed to amputation while cutting slate.
