29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employees exposure: a) Throughout facility: The employer failed to use engineering controls that would reduce or eliminate exposurefor syringes used in endodontic and anesthesia procedures , such as, self sheathing needles or marketed recapping devices, among other controls, on or about 7/18/16. b) Throughout facility: The employer failed to use work practice controls when cleaning contaminated dental equipment with sharp edges or points, such as explorers and drill bits. Work practice controls did not include a no hands procedure, among other controls, on or about 7/18/16. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
