29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: JOB SITE: The Village of Montrachet, near 7166 Hwy N, OFallon, MO 63367, at this work site, a worker was inside an open trench, approximately 4 feet 7 inches wide, approximately 135 feet in total length, and approximately 8 feet deep (at time of inspection), and was not protected by an adequate protective systems. The Karrenbrock Excavating, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 896722, citation number 1, item number 2b and was affirmed as a final order on 06/28/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 1201 S. Fifth St., St. Charles, MO, 63301.
