29 CFR 1926.651(i)(1): Where the stability of adjoining buildings, walls, or other structures was endangered by excavation operations, support systems such as shoring, bracing or underpinning was not provided to ensure the stability of such structures for the protection of employees. Site: 146 Wilson Street Brooklyn, NY On or about 12/14/15 a) Employees worked in an excavation approximately 13 feet deep which did not have underpinning or other means installed to ensure stability of an adjacent walls or structures. Employees were hand digging an excavation and there was no shoring, bracing, or underpinning provided to support and stabilize the foundation of the adjoining property.
