Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when: a. On or about December 23, 2011 - at the above addressed jobsite, employees were erecting a canopy in an excavation approximately sixteen (16') feet in depth that was not provided with an adequate protective system, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with cave-ins.
