29 CFR 1910.26(c)(3)(vii): Ladders should not be used as a brace, skid, guy or gin pole, gangway, or for other uses than that for which they were intended, unless specifically recommended for use by the manufacturer. At the ClayDesta Building in the mailbox room, employees were exposed to fall hazards, in that the employer did not ensure ladders were used for their intended purpose, such as when a 8 feet A frame ladder was used to access an 11 feet space in the ceiling.
