29 CFR 1918.35: Employees were working around open weather deck hatches which were not protected by coamings to a height of 24 inches (0.61 m), or by taut lines or barricades at a height of 36 to 42 inches (0.91 m to 1.07 m) above the deck. (a) F/V Alaska Mist, Factory Deck Area, Coastal Dock: On or about 4 February 2015 and times prior thereto, the rope railing was not taunt and had slack. This condition exposed employees to an eight foot fall hazard. (a) F/V Alaska Mist, Coastal dock, Engineering deck area: On or about 4 February 2014 and times prior thereto, the 30" X 36" hatchway was opened and not guarded. This condition exposed employees to a 103" fall hazard.
