Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002F Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.1018(e)(2): Initial monitoring was not performed for each workplace, or work operation covered by 29 CFR 1910.1018 to accurately determine the airborne concentration of inorganic arsenic to which employees may be exposed: (a) Tactical Training Center, LLC. 10A Minneakoning Rd. Flemington, NJ 08822. On or about 2/12/2024 and thereafter, employee(s) performed dry sweeping using a broom and dust mop around the dust collecting unit in the back room at the rear of the firing lanes (ports) at the gun range as part of their weekly duties, which exposed them to toxic inorganic arsenic. The employer did not conduct an initial determination as to the level of exposure to arsenic experienced by employees and if that exposure was at or above the action level. Personal exposure monitoring for airborne inorganic arsenic dust was conducted by OSHA on 3/09/2024 during dry sweeping of the back area of the firing lanes (ports) using broom and/or dust mop. OSHA's sampling measured employee exposure at 0.02 milligrams per cubic meter during 88 minutes of sampling, with zero exposure assumed for the balance of the 480-min work shift. This measured exposures represent 34% of the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.01 milligrams per cubic meter as an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA). Employee(s) were exposed to health hazard(s) of toxic inorganic arsenic (As) inhalation
