29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function. On or about February 19, 2020, in the patch department where employees were required to wear tight fitting 3M brand half-face respirator without having their facial hair trimmed or shaven so that the facial hair did not interfere with the face and mask sealing surface.
