29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting. a) On or about 10/26/2018 employees were utilizing a portable fire extinguisher and garden hoses to fight a class B fire (flammable liquid) in the oil changing pit of the facility without the proper training such as but not limited to the use of fire extinguishers, garden hoses or other extinguishing agents to fight a class B fire.
