29 CFR 1910.146(c)(5)(ii)(C): Before an employee entered a permit required confined space, the internal atmosphere was not tested, with a calibrated direct-reading instrument, for oxygen content, for flammable gases and vapors, and for potential toxic air contaminants, in that order. a) On or about August 11th, 2018 or prior thereto: Entry was conducted into a 8000 gallon 1988 Beat Tanker DOT classified 306 trailer to weld a baffle. The employer did not evaluate the airborne environment inside the tanker prior to entry. NOTE: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item.
