Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002D Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) Employees were not trained on the use of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Chemical Classification and the associated pictograms, signal words and other warnings found on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to inform employees of chemical hazards. Bottles containing glues and solvents, such as naphtha and acetone, used by employees in the main work area and in the sign department were not properly labeled. Missing from the container labeling were pictograms and hazard warnings that would inform employees of hazards such as flammability.
