29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): The employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area a.) The company did not provide the information and training necessary for an outside contractor using Harley Davidson supplied chemicals at a Harley Davidson site. This outside contractor was not informed by the company coordinator of protective ventilation usage within the Hazmat room, the higher concentration of 2-butoxyethanol within the material used nor the potential for excessive vapor generation by pouring undiluted liquid onto floor areas as a method of paint removal. b.) The company did not provide hazard information and training for site employees potentially exposed to chemical vapors during work activities by an outside contractor working on site. Abatement Certification and Documentation is required.
