29 CFR 1910.1053(g)(2): Where respirator use was required by this section, the employer did not institute a respiratory protection program in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134: On or about August 20, 2024, the employer did not institute a respiratory protection program in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134 for an employee conducting maintenance activities on Dust Collector A039971 exposed to an 8-hour time weighed average (TWA) of 220 micrograms/cubic meter (ug/m3) of respirable crystalline silica (RCS), approximately 4.5 times the Permissible Exposure Level (PEL) of 50 ug/m3. The exposure level was derived from samples collected over a 470-minute sampling period, with zero exposure assume for the period of 10 minutes.
