Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7):Industrial trucks shall be examined before being placed in service, and shall not be placed in service if the examination shows any condition adversely affecting the safety of the vehicle. Such examination shall be made at least daily. Where industrial trucks are used on a round-the-clock basis, they shall be examined after each shift. Defects when found shall be immediately reported and corrected. a) On or about July 18, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the Toyota-Forklift - Model 7FBCU25 (sit-down) with electrical wires to the lights were exposed and the lights had broken covers exposing the light bulbs and fixture holding the bulbs was also broken was removed from service until corrected. b) On or about July 18, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the Clark-Forklift- Model S25CL (sit-down) with a damaged seat was removed from service until corrected. c)On or about July 18, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the Clark Model OSX15 (green) order picker with a damaged windshield and a broken light was taken out of service, until repaired.
