29 CFR 1910.333(a)(1): Live parts to which an employee may be exposed were not deenergized before the employee worked on or was near to them: a. MTD Products, Inc. dba Stanley Black & Decker - Willard, Ohio: On or about December 15, 2023, employee(s) were exposed to electrical hazards in that the electrical power for the oven control panel was not deenergized before employees accessed the panels to perform tasks such as, but not limited to, replacing fuses. Employees were exposed electrical shock and arc flash/blast hazards while working on or near live parts in the 480V/60amp electrical control panel. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
