29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)(ii)(D): Powered industrial trucks. Training program content. Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training in the following topics, except in topics which the employer can demonstrate are not applicable to safe operation of the truck in the employer's workplace. Truck-related topics: Pedestrian traffic in areas where the vehicle will be operated a) On or about October 26, 2023, the employer did not ensure that the training program content for operators pulling the scrap carts behind the Yale - NexSys Model #: ERC050VGN48TE083 Serial Number: A968N24713U sit-down forklift it was adequate in that the training did not include (D) the hazards around pedestrian traffic in areas where the vehicle will be operated between doorways and passageways to protect the pedestrians in the areas from struck-by hazards created by the trailing scrap carts.
