29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times. (a) 157 West Jackson Street, New Holland PA, interior of the milk receiving area, above Silo 30c alcove, - On or about June 9, 2022, the emergency lighting at Silo 30c was damaged and not in proper working order at all times, including at the time of inspection. Employees were exposed to fire and smoke inhalation hazards due to the emergency lighting not being in working order. (b) 158 West Jackson Street, New Holland PA, Lower Engine Room - On or about July 13, 2022, the emergency lighting for the door leading from the lower engine room to the Savencia side of the facility was not in proper working order at all times, including at the time of inspection. Employees were exposed to fire and smoke inhalation hazards due to the emergency lighting not being in working order. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
