29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided that will prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. On or about May 10, 2022, at an establishment located at 1102 Jefferson Street in Algoma, Wisconsin, in the Finishing Department; the employer did not ensure that two flexible cords connected to a Tripp-Lite SmartPro 120V Line-Interactive Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS) were provided with strain relief to prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. The insulation on both flexible cords was frayed and/or disconnected from the housing of the plug.
