29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: The employer is failing to train employees on the recognition of chemical hazards associated with using petroleum products for lawn maintenance equipment. This was most recently documented on or about June 02, 2021 at Pierpoint Lawn and Landscape Inc. jobsite located at 217 South Borduelac Wichita Kansas 67230 (between 159th East and U.S. 54/Kellogg, near Andover). Where the employer has inadequately trained employees engaged in lawn care activities using gasoline, mixed 2-cycle engine oil with gasoline, motor oil, and hydraulic fluid in the operation and maintenance of the lawn equipment. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
