29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide adequate training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program was understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. (a) Pit Mounted Centrifugal Casting Machine "A Spinner": On or about April 26, 2021, the employer did not ensure that employees known as "Spinner Operators", and who perform tasks which require energy control procedures to be utilized were properly trained on and understood the procedures required for safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls. This exposed employees working at, on, or around the spinner to unexpected start-up and operation while performing job tasks associated with the set up and maintenance of the energized machine.
