29 CFR 1926.652(e)(2)(i): Excavation of material was at a level greater than 2 feet (.61 m) below the bottom of the members of a support system. a) Jobsite - The employer excavated material at a depth greater than 2 feet below the bottom of the members of the support system exposing an employee installing a water main line to cave-in hazards below the bottom of the support system. The employer excavated approximately 4 feet below the protective system. Observed on or about 9/21/18.
