29 CFR 1926.605(d)(3): Employees working or walking on the unguarded decks of barges were not protected with U.S. Coast Guard-approved work vests or buoyant vests a) crane barge; On or about 06/20/2018, Jersey Devils LLC employees were exposed to the danger of drowning due to the failure to wear U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket(s) or buoyant work vest(s) while working over and adjacent to water from the crane barge. Employees were working directly at the unguarded edges of the barge. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
