29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior thereto and thereafter, the employer allows employees to wear tight-fitting respirators while having facial hair that comes between the sealing surface and the face exposing employees to hazards associated with chemicals such as but not limited to zinc fume and hydrochloric acid vapor.
