29 CFR 1910.95(k)(1): The employer did not train each employee who is exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.95(k). The employer did not institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program: a) The employer did not train an employees who was exposed to noise that had exceeded the 8-hour TWA of 85dBA, based upon an 80 dB threshold. A sandblaster employee was exposed to continuous noise levels at 351.4% of the permissible 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) . The equivalent level of 351.4% is approximately 99.0 dBA. Sampling was performed for 226 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the 254 minutes not sampled; (b) The employer did not train an employees who was exposed to noise that had exceeded the 8-hour TWA of 85dBA, based upon an 80 dB threshold. A sandblaster employee was exposed to continuous noise levels at 365.8% of the permissible 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) . The equivalent level of 365.8% is approximately 99.3 dBA. Sampling was performed for 201 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the 279 minutes not sampled.
