29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer shall provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. The training shall include the following: (a) The training on the energy control program provided to employees was inadequate, in that employees thought it was acceptable to perform mold changes on the hydraulic presses without first locking out the presses. (b) Hydraulic press operators were not trained on the energy control program prior to cleaning the molds while they were in the presses. THE COMPANY WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD, WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 310731799, CITATION NUMBER 01, ITEM NUMBER 02, ISSUED ON FEBRUARY 20, 2007, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 719 LONG STREET, PIQUA, OHIO.
