29 CFR 1910.94(a)(6): The air for abrasive-blasting respirators was not free of harmful quantities of dusts, mists, or noxious gases, and did not meet the requirements for air purity set forth in 29 CFR 1910.134(i): a. On or about October 7, 2014, yard, the employer did not test compressed breathing air from an oil-lubricated compressor to ensure it met the requirements for Grade D breathing air described in ANSI/Compressed Gas Association Commodity Specification for Air, G-7.1-1989. The oil-lubricated compressor did not have a high temperature alarm or carbon monoxide alarm and provided breathing air to a Clemco Apollo 600 HP abrasive blasting supplied air respirator worn by employees who were exposed to gas, vapor, and dust hazards during abrasive blasting using crystalline silica containing abrasives.
