29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Protection was not provided by placing and keeping excavated or other materials or equipment at least 2 feet (.61m) from the edge of excavations, or by the use of retaining devices that were sufficient to prevent materials or equipment from falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: On or about October 24, 2013 at worksite 1017 SW Drake Circle in Lees Summit, Missouri- Employees were laying a sanitary sewer line in a trench that was between 8 and 14 feet in depth and did not have the spoil piles or other materials placed at least 2 feet from the edge of the trench. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IS NOT REQUIRED.
