29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(i): Selection of appropriate respirators was not based on the respiratory hazard(s) to which the worker was exposed and user factors that affect respirator performance and reliability: a) On or about November 16, 2023, and at times prior, the employer did not select the appropriate respirator for employees. Some employees wore N-95s while others wore half-face respirators with 6005 organic vapor cartridges when working the Pug Mill. There was no hazard assessment for why employees should wear respirators at the Pug Mill or what respirator is required for this work area. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
