29 CFR 1910.138(a): General requirements. Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. On or about October 31, 2023, and January 8, 2024, employees were manually spraying parts, that were passing through the spray booth line, with Polyester / Triglycidyl Isocyanurate H.G. Employees were exposed to corrosive materials such as such as Polyester/TGIC H.G. The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand/arm protection as required. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
