29 CFR 1910.1000(e): Feasible administrative or engineering controls were not determined and implemented to achieve compliance with the limits prescribed in 29 CFR 1910.1000(a) through (d): Inside the aluminum oxide blasting booth at 22 Mount Dumplin Rd. Palmer, MA: On July 21, 2023, and at times prior, an employee performing aluminum abrasive blasting was exposed to an 8-hour TWA of respirable silicon concentration of 6.988 mg/m3. Feasible engineering controls were not implemented to reduce employee exposure below the respirable fraction permissible exposure limit of 5.0 mg/m3.
