29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(v): Employees exposed to the danger of injury to the eyes or face from electric arcs or flashes or from flying objects resulting from electrical explosion did not wear protective equipment for the eyes or face: a) Reverse Osmosis Trailer (a 480-volt electrical cabinet inside the MCC closet): On or about January 24, 2023, employees were required to open a 480-volt live electrical cabinet to verify if a circuit breaker for the faulting water pump was tripped, exposing these employees to electrical hazards, such as but not limited to arcs flash or blast, without first being trained in electrical safety-related work practices that pertained to their respective job assignments.
