29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Unless specifically permitted otherwise in paragraph (g)(1)(ii) of this section, flexible cords and cables may not be used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure. The employer does not ensure that flexible cords and cables are not used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure. a) This most recently occurred on or about December 1, 2022, throughout the salesfloor of Dollar General Store No. 22944, located at 607 East Highland Drive in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. The employer exposes employees to electrical fire and shock hazards when metal outlet boxes are suspended by flexible cords above the retail floor, providing power to various coolers and lights throughout the store. Dollar General Corporation was previously cited under the name Dolgencorp, LLC dba Dollar General Store #4495 for a REPEAT - OTHER violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1455672, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as final order on May 13, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 40976 AL 77 South, Ashland, AL 36251.
