29 CFR 1910.140(c)(17): The employer did not ensure that a personal fall protection system or its components subjected to impact loading is removed from service immediately and not used again until a competent person inspects the system or components and determines that it is not damaged and safe for use for employee personal fall protection. a) Building 19/20, Roof - An employee donned a 6-foot single leg polyester shock absorbing lanyard as part of a personal fall protection system and the lanyard had signs of impact loading, on or about November 2, 2022. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
