29 CFR 1910.141(a)(3)(i): Places of employment were not kept clean to the extent that the nature of the work allowed: (a) Polishing - Combustible aluminum dust had accumulated on surfaces, including the booth walls and ceiling for the two G&P Machinery double end spindle stand polishers and on ductwork and boxes behind the booth, exposing employees to fire and explosion hazards, on or about October 27, 2022. (b) Sand-O-Flex - Combustible aluminum dust had accumulated on surfaces, including on booth walls and ceilings for the Sand-O-Flex work stations and on ductwork and equipment, such as the exterior of the Air Dynamics dust collector, exposing employees to fire and explosion hazards, on or about October 27, 2022. (c) Grinding - Combustible aluminum dust had accumulated on surfaces, including on the booth walls for the two Admiral double end spindle stand abrasive belt grinders, on the abrasive belt grinding machines, and on electrical conduit, exposing employees to fire and explosion hazards, on or about October 27, 2022. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
