Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(i)(5)(iii): The compressor's sorbent bed and filters were not maintained and replaced or refurbished periodically as instructed by the manufacturer: a) Punxsutawney Finishing Works, Inc., 1857 Woodland Ave Extension, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, Abrasive blasting/Compressor area, on or about August 26th, 2022 and times prior thereto: Company employees were utilizing supplied breathing air from two oil-lubricated Quincy air compressors (Model: QST50ANA32S0 Serial # 99412H; and Model: SI02ANA3JG Serial#90611) through a supplied air respirator associated with a Radex airline filter system. The company's filter system was not replaced or refurbished per the manufacturers instructions. The last filter changeout for the Radex airline filter system was dated as 4/3/2020 on the Radex airline filter. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
