29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: A.) American Turned Products, Inc., utilities area, on or about July 1st, 2022: Employees worked with and around a corrosive chemical, including but not limited to, sulfuric acid. An employee tasked with transferring the sulfuric acid to different containment did not utilize proper eye and face protection, including but not limited to, face shield and/or chemical splash goggles while transferring a Sulfuric acid solution to tote of waste fluid. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
