29 CFR 1910.176(b):Material stored in tiers was not stacked, blocked, interlocked or limited in height so that it was stable and secure against sliding and collapse. a) 2233 26th Street SW Allentown, PA: On or about December 9, 2021 employees were exposed to struck-by and crushed-by hazards when the employer did not ensure that steel and aluminum coils did not create a hazard when stored. Coils, weighing as much as 20,000 lbs, were stored on broken wooden pallets in tiers that were asymmetrically stacked and not limited in height. Coils located at the back, left side of the warehouse were not blocked to secure against sliding.
