29 CFR 1910.217(c)(1)(i): It shall be the responsibility of the employer to provide and insure the usage of "point of operation guards" or properly applied and adjusted point of operation devices on every operation performed on a mechanical power press. See Table O-10. (a) On or about August 26, 2021, the Federal #7 partial revolution 80 ton press Serial #7-653 where employees were performing hand in die operations did not have adequate point of operation guards in place, in that the guard in place was open and not in use to prevent repeat strokes.
